I moved to Sisters and began practicing dentistry in 1993, mentored by and worked alongside Dr. Stephen Spear for over 10 years. I was welcomed into this wonderful community and have thoroughly loved practicing dentistry and working in this very special small town for nearly thirty years. However, it is time for me to step back and spend more time with my wife, beautiful family, and with a fishing rod in my hands.
It has been my pleasure working with you to improve your dental health and overall wellbeing by addressing the individual challenges you encounter. Every single day I was delighted to come into the office to see you, my patients.
While I love the technical aspects of dentistry and the dynamics of being a small town dentist, my greater joy was to see you and catch up on your lives throughout the years. It has been wonderful to see your children and families grow, hear about new activities you’ve been keeping busy with, and, of course, many of your fishing reports!
It is my pleasure to announce the sale of my dental practice and introduce you to Dr. Kevin Zachary Sunitsch DMD. Zach grew up in Klamath Falls, Oregon and earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from the University of Arizona in 2009. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Oregon Health and Science University in 2018 and then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Idaho State University in 2019.
When Zach isn’t working he loves to play disc golf, mountain bike, create pottery, snowboard, and spend time with his wife Leah, their pug and two cats. Dr. Sunitsch is very excited to be living in Central Oregon, and looks forward to serving and being part of the Sisters community. While I will not yet be retiring completely, as I love this profession and my patients so much, my role in the office will be a lesser capacity working part-time.
It is my sincere hope that you will welcome him warmly to the practice and to our community, as you did to me thirty years ago.
With gratitude,
Thomas R. Rheuben DMD FAGD
